I went to the grocery store today, Albertsons. I have been trying to go to the local Farmers Market, but when you have a hungry four year old and a husband who rides skateboards all day... Farmers Markets aren't always convienent. As I drove into the parking lot I saw a holy shrine to bottled water, in fact I wish I had taken a picture of it, it was that grandiose. The bottles were on sale and people were hurriedly filling up their carts, as if we were in the midst of a threat and all the water was going to disappear.
I wanted to run up to these people and yell, "Plastic bottles use more fossil fuel to make than to drive your car!" "You are being ripped off by the big water companies, who are selfishly raking in millions, just by bottling regular filtered tap water!"
This is when I started thinking who is living an eco conscience life besides on Earth Day. I think a lot of people claim the popular "green" label, but their lifestyle certainly is an oxy moron.
It is hard to change habits....
